Hadyn was brought up in his father's pub and after taking an HND in Hotel and Catering Management, he worked with Strand Hotels in London hotels including the Cumberland, Strand Palace and Tower. He then ran a busy London pub with bars, restaurant and banqueting before opening a 14 bedroom hotel in central Salisbury. In 1989 he took an MSc in Hospitality at Oxford Brookes University and taught hospitality operations at Bournemouth University, gaining a postgraduate degree in teaching. In 1995, he lectured at the University of Surrey, earning an MPhil in 1998. Since then, he has worked with the International Management Centres Association (see below for more details) on corporate learning programmes with companies such as Whitbread, Granada, Marriott, Rocco Forte Hotels, Interbrew and Compass.

British Accreditation council (BAC)

BAC is a registered charity (non-profit-making organisation) which was established in 1984 to act as the national accrediting body for independent further and higher education. It is independent both of government and of the colleges with which it accredits.

A college which is accredited by BAC undergoes a thorough inspection every five years, with an interim visit after two-three years. Until 2000, BAC accreditation was only available to colleges in the United Kingdom, but there are now accredited colleges in the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Greece, India, Germany and Switzerland. At present BAC accredits over 200 colleges in the United Kingdom, and nearly 30 overseas. A full list of accredited colleges can be viewed on this website.

BAC 's Council includes nominees of a number of the major bodies concerned with the maintenance of standards in British education, including the Association of Colleges, the British Council, the Council of Validating Universities, Universities UK, the Chartered Institutes, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and UKCOSA.
